Vancouver, BC and Barcelona, Spain – February 11, 2008 – Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX: ICS), a global wireless software solutions provider, today announced its 2008 product roadmap for the Soleus software platform. Soleus is a comprehensive, proven software platform for converged wireless handsets based on Windows® Embedded CE. The upcoming Soleus software release in the first quarter of 2008 will accelerate device development cycles and time-to-market by delivering “pre-certified” reference implementation of phone driver modules.
A new release of Soleus software available in the second quarter of 2008 will enable device makers to build handsets that leverage 3G networks for advanced data services. In the fourth quarter of 2008, another Soleus software release will contain support for touch interfaces and other advanced user interface (UI) and application development environment enhancements, allowing customers to cost effectively develop innovative handsets and support applications with touch based UI’s. Prototype versions of the new capabilities will be demonstrated in meeting room 4.7HS01 at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, February 11-14, 2008.
“These new Soleus features will accelerate our customers’ and partners’ ability to meet market demand for highly customized 3G-enabled devices with advanced UI features like touch interface,” said Souheil Gallouzi, Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Products and Development, Intrinsyc Software. “Soleus continues to lead the mobile phone software platform market as a result of its product readiness, its comprehensive toolset that leverages the Windows® ecosystem and technology, and the ease it provides in customizing the user experience at a deeper level than ever before. Through this clearly defined roadmap of platform releases with new cutting-edge features, our customers and partners can be assured that Soleus will continue to meet their wireless device software needs well into the future.”
Soleus is a comprehensive handheld software platform, with pre-certified telephony and a large applications portfolio, which enables handset makers to differentiate their offerings and rapidly develop and deploy an array of wireless consumer devices.
